Coleby Frye Sets Fast Time, Finishes Fifth at the Jim Shank Memorial

09/09/08 - Dover, PA - Coleby Frye Racing and 2008 Mid-Atlantic Championship Series (MACS) Rookie of the Year contender Coleby Frye had his best showing of the 2008 MACS season on Friday, August 29th during the Cleveland Brothers CAT Jim Shank Memorial presented by Potoka Trucking at Lernerville Speedway.

Coleby and his Fryeco Inc. / PA College of Technology / A&A Auto Salvage and Recycling / Keystone Trailer Services / TC Race Cars / Krenn Trucking #F1 Rocket Chassis GTO backed up his solid ‘Firecracker 100’ showing at the Sarver, PA speedway by setting fast time, which came with a $500 award courtesy of #1 Cochran Automotive, and leading the first 22 laps of the A-Main before finishing fifth in the MACS sanctioned Jim Shank Memorial. The finish also moved Frye into a tie for third in the MACS championship point standings as well as giving him a 110 point advantage over Greg Fetters in the AlturnaMATS® Rookie of the Year point standings.

Frye’s strong Lernerville finish was preceded with a fourth place finish at Selinsgrove Speedway on August 23rd as well as a 23rd place finish in the Krenn Trucking #32 the following day also at Selinsgrove.

On August 30th, in preparation for the ‘Paul Long Memorial’, Coleby finished 18th in the Krenn Trucking #32. At the ‘Paul Long Memorial’ on August 31st, Frye qualified 23rd quickest out of the 38 entrants but failed to transfer to the 50 lap, $10,000 to win main event. Rain washed away the final weekend of Late Model action at the Selinsgrove Speedway.

As of right now the next event on Coleby’s schedule is the MACS sanctioned ‘Big Kahuna’ at Allegany County Speedway in Cumberland, MD on October 3rd and 4th. The two day event will pay $12,000 to the winner. Please keep an eye on www.colebyfrye.com for scheduling updates.
